Quantum has developed wide range of engineering solutions that can be applied to stabilise, secure and augment structures or slopes.
Rock anchors are durable, reliable and economical post tensioned tendons installed and secured into underlying rock, or competent strata. Tendons made of high strength steel bars or strands can be fabricated for extremely high capacity load.
The latest rock anchor technology is used by Quantum engineers for
- stabilising foundations, slopes, rock walls and cuts
- anchoring retaining walls
- Systemic rock stabilisation and local supports for underground excavations
Quantum’s experience in the field has found solutions for problems in structures both modern and ancient. Renovation of an historic blast furnace at Blaenavon Ironworks was made possible thanks to the expertise of our Geotechnical team.
And when the well-preserved remains of a mediaeval ship was discovered during the construction of Newport’s new arts centre, Quantum Geotechnical won the contract to design and install the piling and anchoring works for the new basement built to accommodate the ancient ship.
